Call For Reporter: Join Our Editorial Team!
Published on: May 9, 2026
We’re looking for a sharp, curious, and impact-driven junior reporter to join our editorial team.
Care City Media is a health media brand focused on healthcare, leadership, wellbeing, entrepreneurship, innovation, and digital transformation across Africa.
We’re expanding fast! And we need a vision-driven junior reporter to join our editorial team.
We’ll be launching a fresh look for our website and brand in general in preparation for our next phase of growth.
This role is for someone who doesn’t just report stories—but understands their weight.
Someone who can break down complex ideas, spot emerging trends, and tell stories that inform, educate, challenge, and inspire (think FORBES, but for healthcare).
What You’ll Do
- Research, investigate, and report on stories across healthcare, leadership, digital health, and innovation across Africa and globally.
- Translate complex health and tech topics into clear, engaging, and accessible content.
- Conduct interviews with founders, healthcare professionals, policymakers, and thought leaders.
- Track trends, funding movements, and policy shifts shaping the African healthcare ecosystem.
- Produce articles, features, and analysis pieces with a strong narrative structure.
- Collaborate with the editorial and content team to maintain quality and consistency.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong writing and storytelling ability (journalistic or editorial experience is a plus).
- Deep curiosity about healthcare, technology, and innovation.
- Ability to simplify complex topics without losing depth.
- Research-driven mindset with attention to accuracy and credibility.
- Comfortable working independently and meeting deadlines.
- Familiarity with digital media, newsletters, or online publishing is an advantage.
- The ability to use WordPress CMS is an added advantage.
What Makes This Role Different
This isn’t routine reporting. You’ll be covering the intersection of healthcare, leadership, entrepreneurship, and innovation—especially in emerging markets—where stories are still unfolding, and perspectives are still being shaped.
- Opportunity to improve your skills with training and education sponsored by us.
- Travel opportunities to cover events first-hand and for investigative journalism and reporting.
Who Should Apply
- Early to mid-career journalists in Africa (preferably Nigeria, but other countries can apply).
- Healthcare professionals with strong writing, reporting and research skills.
- Anyone passionate about telling meaningful stories in healthcare, especially in Africa.
How To Apply
Send the following:
- Your CV and portfolio (2–3 writing samples; articles, blog posts, or reports).
- Social media profile link (preferably LinkedIn).
- A short note on why you’re interested in this role (like a cover letter).
Location: Remote
Type: Contract (with potential for long-term engagement)
If you’re interested in telling stories that matter—and shaping conversations in healthcare—we’d love to hear from you.
Send your CV and portfolio to [email protected].
Successful applicants will be contacted with further directives.
