It also plays a vital role in promoting public health awareness and offering emotional support through professional communities.

However, social media can also be likened to a double-edged sword for some professionals.

While it offers powerful platforms for education, advocacy, and professional networking, it also fuels a silent epidemic—social media burnout.

This condition, often underestimated, is increasingly impacting doctors, nurses, therapists, and other frontline healthcare workers and professionals.

As demands for online presence grow, the psychological and physiological toll escalates.

In this article, we examine the causes, symptoms, and evidence-based treatments for social media burnout among healthcare professionals, while offering actionable frameworks to help professionals restore their digital and mental wellbeing.
